Trailer For THE APPARITION Is Corny, Great

A cheesy voice over tells the story of how Bucky Barnes and Draco Malfoy got haunted.

The voice over at the beginning of this trailer for The Apparition, the new film starring Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), is the cheesiest thing ever. And I love it. It's awesome. What comes after is pretty cool, too, with some gross fungal-looking junk and good scares.

The movie looks to be embracing found footage in a narrative context, which is what Eduardo Sanchez' Lovely Molly is doing as well. I like this aesthetic; the found footage stuff is great for scares but terrible for storytelling, so a merging of the two styles would seem ideal.

The only thing I don't like about the trailer is that the small main cast makes me think I've already seen everybody get theirs. I hope that isn't the case.

I'm also a fan of the poster. The only thing keeping it from being a video store classic is that the hands are covering the girl's elbows and not her boobs, Janet Jackson style.
