Will Obi-Wan Kenobi Return For STAR WARS EPISODE VII?

Today's rumor says: Yes.

Latino Review scoops are always pretty exciting because they tend to come with a lot of credibility. Today, they report that Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi will return for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars. That makes sense. He is a Force Ghost, after all. The fact that he's not Alec Guinness is just something Star Wars fans will have to get over. They've had practice.

Latino Review also claims McGregor wants to do a solo film. That doesn't mean he's going to get one, but the idea has merit. If there was one consistently likable element to the Prequel Trilogy, it was McGregor's Obi-Wan. And if there's one thing I like about this whole Star Wars resurgence, it's the idea of standalone entries. So right there, that's two things I like. Math, for once, is on my side.

With all this talk about returning characters, I do get a little nervous that J.J. Abrams' version of Star Wars will suffer from the same tiny universe that plagued the prequels. I'm not a die hard Star Wars guy, but it would be so exciting if these were actually good.
