All-Female Horror Anthology Film XX Has An Amazing Roster

I heard about this movie a few days ago, but until I saw a roster I didn't know precisely how excited I was: the answer is very, very excited. Too excited. Crazy-making levels of excited. 

Dark Sky Films and XYZ Films are releasing an all-female horror anthology - written, directed by and starring women. The roster is precisely who I would want it to be: on board we have Jennifer Lynch (Chained, Hisss), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Karyn Kusama (Jennifer's Body and may I just add YES), Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary) and  Jovanka Vuckovic (The Guest). 

Each filmmaker will develop their own stories which will then be brought together through segments by stop-motion animator Sofia Carrillo, who's also doing the title sequence. Producer (and Twitch Film founder) Todd Brown said, "One of the givens of so many horror films has been the objectification of young women, and we thought it was time for a different approach to scaring audiences and letting the female voice be heard." 

You guys know how I feel about this. (I'm happy to report that since the writing of that post, TONS of female horror filmmakers entered the ABCs of Death 2 contest. Check out all the submissions here!) I'm very, very pleased. This feels long overdue and incredibly thrilling.
