ANNIE Are You Okay? So, ANNIE Are You OK? Trailer

Old musicals are really having a big day. First we hear that there might soon be a Steven Spielberg remake of West Side Story. And now we have a trailer for the big update of Annie. Next thing you know, they'll be announcing a live televised version of The Sound of Music.

Other than the fact that it's a musical based on that Jay Z song, I don't know much from Annie, but I have to admit that this trailer does have some charm in the form of Quvenzhané Wallis, who I cannot help but love. The rest of the cast varies tremendously. Jamie Foxx seems okayy, while Cameron Diaz's overacting makes me cringe.

I feel tremendously under-equipped for this sort of movie. So I'll leave it up to you. Does this look like the good kind of cheesy schmaltz or the bad kind? It's certainly a trailer that doesn't bother telling the whole story, but maybe they just assume everyone already knows what'll happen. If you find yourself interested, get ready for a long wait as the film doesn't actually come out until December 19. So when you start hearing Christmas carols in department stores, you'll still have a good five months left until you can see it.
