Prep Your BOURNE Again Headlines: Damon & Greengrass Are Coming Back!

Fuck yo chems.

Great news: Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are in talks to return the Bourne franchise, bringing the series back to where it belongs. Universal is so hot to get these two back that they could be bumping the 2016 Bourne Legacy 2 or whatever they were calling the next Aaron Cross movie, which was to be directed by Justin Lin.

What's happened? Nobody's sure, and Greengrass was pretty adamant that Jason Bourne's story was over over over in The Bourne Ultimatum, but I'm glad he's figured out a new way back in. The Greengrass Bourne films are extraordinary works that excite me in the way that they weave current events into a rich, exciting spy world. I bet Greengrass has taken a look at the current state of the world and found some inspiration.

Deadline thinks that Universal is going to run Bourne and Cross franchises side-by-side - everybody's Marvelous these days. I don't know that people are excited about another Aaron Cross film, though. It'll be interesting to see if audiences were just biding time for Jason Bourne to return, and if they'll bother coming back for another Cross Chems Caper.
