Benedict Cumberbatch Is (Definitely) Doctor Strange
The back and the forth and the rumors and the denials are over: Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange, opening in theaters on November 4, 2016. From the official release:
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
We have been talking about this guy in this role for so long that I don't have much left to add. They're nailing him down before a possible Oscar nomination for The Imitation Game makes him harder to get. I wonder what the hold up was - what the negotiation ended up being all about.
This is kind of what anti-climax feels like. Here's my big question: in the comics Strange's santum sanctorum was in New York's Greenwich Village because when he was created that was a totally hip, offbeat and crazy neighborhood. Today it's super fancy. Where should Doctor Strange live now?
Yeah, that's my call to action. Where should Doctor Strange live now.
