Austin! Promise Me You’ll Go See STARRY EYES This Weekend
This weekend, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer's Starry Eyes is premiering at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, and if you are a horrorphile who lives in or near Austin, I demand you go! Well, not so much demand as sincerely urge for your own damn good.
This year, the big commercial horror releases have been absolute dreck like Annabelle, Tusk and Deliver Us From Evil, and Starry Eyes is the cure for these slick, watered-down pieces of garbage. This is the kind of horror movie we want to see more of as horror fans, and the best way to ensure the continued survival of gutsy independent horror is to go see it in a theater. And more importantly, you have my word: you want to see this movie in a theater.
Read my review here and Devin's review here. We both loved it, and you will too.
The film screens Friday at 10:25pm (tickets HERE) and Saturday at 11:15pm (tickets HERE). Executive Producer Aaron B. Koontz will be in attendance at both screenings, and the Saturday screening will be co-hosted by the Austin Horror Society, with fun guests and prizes for attendees.
So go! Promise me you'll go!
