Jamie Foxx And Michelle Monaghan To Star In SLEEPLESS NIGHT Remake

Sleepless Night is one of those movies I recommend to everyone. It’s a relatively simple action thriller that takes place over the course of one night, in one setting, and does just about everything it possibly can to pack in as much great action and tension as possible over the course of its running time.

So of course they’re remaking it. According to Variety, Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan will star in the film with Baran Bo Odar directing.

For those who aren’t familiar with the original, Sleepless Night is about a dirty cop who has to find and retrieve a bag of cocaine somewhere within a packed nightclub in order to save his son from a crime boss. That’s pretty much it. There is a lot of “thump thump” music. It’s wonderful.

I suppose this remake business is good news. If they stick to what made the original work, it can only mean another concentrated thriller, and the world needs as many of those as it can get. Plus, a remake might get more people interested in seeing the original, which is always a good thing.
