AMIRA & SAM Stars And Director Name Their Favorite On-Screen Couples
Sean Mullin's Amira & Sam, out from Drafthouse Films, is one of the best romances of the past decade, a film so surprising and funny that it elevates the very idea of a romantic comedy.
It's a story of two outcasts who find home in each other: Sam (Martin Starr), the unsuccessful stand-up comedian and soldier newly home from multiple tours overseas, and Amira (Dina Shihabi), the rebellious and vibrant Iraqi immigrant who gets busted for selling pirated DVDs and must run from the law. Sam's dry, Amira's animated; Sam flies under the radar and Amira demands attention. Together, they're one hell of a memorable couple, one of the greats.
To celebrate their upcoming Valentine's Day Twitter watch party (more details below), Mullin, Starr and Shihabi listed their favorite onscreen couples for BAD.
