Bong Joon-ho’s Monster Movie, OKJA, About To Get Some Big Actors

Please please please let Paul Dano play the monster.

First off, Snowpiercer director Bong Joon-ho has a new movie in the works called Okja, and it’s being described as a monster movie. Tilda Swinton is already confirmed to be involved. So you’re likely already stupid excited, especially if you've seen The Host.

Now we have a bunch of actors all just about read to join the film as well. This list includes several badasses: Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Bill Nighy, and Kelly Macdonald.

Not much is known about Okja right now. It’ll be a bilingual movie with a Korean female lead. The English-speaking actors will appear in scenes that take place in New York.

And yet the mind reels. Bong Joon-ho doing a global monster movie sounds like it could be one of the best things ever. We don’t know what kind of monster we’re talking about here, though. Could just be a really smart rat. Who cares. I bet he could make that entertaining so long as Swinton’s fake teeth are on point.
