New SPECTRE Sights; New SPECTRE Sounds

One-stop shopping for the new IMAX poster, TV spot, and score snippet.

What am I going to do in the ten days between SPECTRE opening in the UK and in the States? I seriously thought about unplugging for the duration. Do I have that kind of willpower? I've quit things and stuck with it. I deleted Facebook over a year ago! It's an option. My wife told me I could fly to London and watch it on the 26th so I'm not "spoiled." The word took on a special irony in that moment, I tell ya.

Why am I telling you this? What do you care about me and my troubles? You want to see the new stuff. First up is the IMAX poster; one assumes it'll be a giveaway like the Skyfall one in 2012.

That skull mask again! Sony and MGM are super into this visual! I love it; death's head imagery in the 007 world goes all the way back to Ian Fleming's dustjackets, and I like the way Skyfall's title sequence started folding it back into the franchise. It's also one of many visual callbacks to Live and Let Die that seem to be sprinkled through SPECTRE.

Next up is a piece of the score, pointed at me by my man Davis McArdle on Twitter. It's score-y enough, I guess. Is it just me or did anyone else start humming "these are a few of my favorite thiiiiiings" in there? I dunno. I miss David Arnold.

Lastly is a new TV spot with Bond being given a health clinic questionnaire by Madeline Swann (Léa Seydoux). So it's a spin on the "Vesper sizing up Bond" train scene from Casino Royale, and the word association test from Skyfall? Why didn't anyone give Bond a quiz in Quantum Of Solace? Anyhow, it might be all the other callbacks, but this feels like Daniel Craig at his most Roger Moore yet, give or take some incredulous double-takes at a Komodo Dragon. I'm into it, but mostly because I'm super sunny and positive and choose the light at all times. Thoughts?
