The GODS OF EGYPT Trailer Is Delightfully Silly

Gods of Egypt has kind of caught me by surprise. Until last week, I had never heard of it. Now it’s all I can think about. Why? Check out the trailer:

So we have an evil Mike Banning magically taking the eyeballs from Jamie Lannister and turning Ancient Egypt into some kind of slave state with giant monsters running around. Just like you learned in History class. Little kids have to get Lannister one of his eyes back so he can set things right. As far as I can tell, that’s the plot of the film.

Good enough for me! Especially when everything is so gaudy and over the top. Anyone out there who has a thing for CG monsters should be in hog heaven here. The rest of us, should probably enjoy it, too. I mean, the once mighty-ish Alex Proyas directed this!

This comes out February 26, and it’s one of the most February movies February has ever seen. Yes, I will be there. Like I have a choice.
