The Canon Episode 60: THE GETAWAY vs THE WILD BUNCH
It's a Sam Peckinpah shoot out!
On the surface this episode is lopsided; I mean, The Wild Bunch is canon, period. But I kind of liked putting The Wild Bunch up against The Getaway because a) it allows us to spotlight a criminally underrated Peckinpah film and b) The Getaway reveals just how much of a relationship movie The Wild Bunch really is. These two movies make for a great unusual double bill.
I love Peckinpah, which means any of the inevitable errors I made while speaking off-the-cuff will cut me twice as hard. Be kind.
