Visible Johnny Depp To Play Invisible Man

For the rest of his life. We’ll never see him again.

It looks like we’re going to have to take these Universal Horror cinematic universe movies seriously. We already have a story where Tom Cruise will star in a remake of The Mummy. I just kept waiting for someone to reveal that as a joke. Now that seems far less likely to happen.

According to Deadline, Johnny Depp has just signed on to play the Invisible Man. This one smarts a bit because The Invisible Man is my favorite of the Universal Horror films. It’s good news for Depp, though. You don’t have to come on set much when you play an invisible guy. He can do most of his job in a recording studio, smoking those little hand rolled cigarettes and wearing all the curtains he wants. You don’t see Tom Cruise doing that shit!

We don’t know who’s writing or directing or anything like that. The film’s schedule is also unknown. All that can be said for sure is that these are going to be bigger movies than anticipated. Maybe not Dracula Untold or I, Frankenstein big, but pretty big nonetheless.
