Jena Malone Is Out Of The BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Theatrical Cut

When fans learned Jena Malone would appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, many were confident she'd don some boyshorts and play a superhero, namely Robin or Batgirl. That seems less likely now. While the exact nature of her role is still unknown, her standing as someone who actually appears in the movie isn’t. Her part got cut.

This comes from a story at EW about BvS’s eventual home video release, which will include an R-rated version. In it, Zack Snyder claims that Malone’s part didn’t make it into the theatrical release but will appear in the R-rated cut. I like to think it’s because she shows up naked while calling Superman a balding cunt, but that’s probably not the case.

The article doesn’t offer too many other details about the R-rated cut. They’re not saying how long it will be, and won’t explain why it got the harsher rating besides featuring more intense violence.

But having to wait even longer to see what Jena Malone will bring to the film stinks. Malone usually provides a belligerent, take no shit presence to her roles, and I was excited to see how that would play out in Batman v Superman. I’m not so keen on having to watch it all over again months later to finally see who she's playing.
