Oh, yes. I will watch this.
I admit that, up until about ten minutes ago, I was completely unaware of The Shallows. Then I watched the trailer...
...and I am all about The Shallows. This thing is wall-to-wall good news.
- It's basically a riff on Stephen King's "The Raft", subbing in a lagoon, a pile of rocks, and a shark for that short story's lake, raft, and...whatever the fuck that thing in "The Raft" is (discuss your theories below, King nerds).
- It's directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop) and based on a script that made the Black List.
- Bonus: film looks gorgeous, shark looks gigantic.
- Blake Lively may or may not get eaten by said shark.
I say this with zero snark: this looks right up my alley, and I'm absolutely into it. Thanks, The Shallows trailer, for putting this movie on my radar.
The Shallows opens everywhere on June 24th. Don't even pretend you're not gonna watch it.
