All-Female Horror Anthology XX Gains St. Vincent As A Director
Magnet has an all-female horror anthology in the works that was already really cool before today’s news made it even better. Called XX, the anthology will have four parts, one directed by The Captured Bird’s Jovanka Vuckovic, one by Boxing Helena’s Jennifer Lynch, and another by The Invitation’s Karyn Kusama.
That’s already an incredible lineup, but today we learn that the fourth segment will be directed by Annie Clark, better known as the amazing musician St. Vincent. Clark will co-write her segment with friend of the site Roxanne Benjamin. This will be Clark’s directorial debut.
For those who don’t listen to St. Vincent, it’s weird. In a really wonderful way, Clark does things outside the box both sonically and when it comes to visual presentation (she is also an incredibly skilled and original guitar player). I can’t wait to see how she utilizes that as a director.
XX doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have my interest. Oh, and this cool poster:
