Check Out This Creepy Trailer For THE WAILING
About a week ago, someone sent me the trailer for Hong-jin Na's The Wailing, and I absolutely would've run the thing had it been subtitled. The film looked creepy and atmospheric and exactly like the sort of thing I'd expect to catch at Fantastic Fest (where Na's The Yellow Sea played a few years ago), but I decided to hold out for the next trailer, which I assumed would be a little more inclusive.
And sure enough, here we are:
This thing looks great. I'm all in. Here's the plot description, via The Playlist:
In The Wailing (Goksung), the arrival of a mysterious stranger (Chun Woo-hee) in an otherwise quiet village coincides with a rash of vicious murders, causing panic and suspicion amongst the villagers. When the daughter of investigating officer Jong-Goo (Kwak Do-won) falls under the same savage spell, he calls for a shaman (Hwang Jung-min) to assist in finding the culprit.
The Wailing will screen at this month's Cannes Film Festival, but will arrive Stateside (in limited release) on May 27th.
You guys digging this trailer as much as I am? Any of you see The Yellow Sea? I missed it at Fantastic Fest, but I'm told it's solid.
