Choose A Job, Choose A Career, Choose The First Teaser Trailer For TRAINSPOTTING 2
The first teaser for Danny Boyle's Trainspotting 2 has arrived. It's forty-five seconds long, contains no new footage, and reveals nothing about the film's plot...but it did make me want to revisit the original for the first time in over a decade, so it's doing something right.
Check it out.
Real talk? Still not convinced this is a good idea.
Director Danny Boyle says that fans have been clamoring for a Trainspotting sequel for the past two decades, but - even amongst the Trainspotting superfans I know - I've never heard anyone say such a thing. Why bother? The original was such a perfectly-contained experience. I can't imagine needing to see that story continue.
But Irvine Welsh wrote a sequel (Porno), and the threat of an adaptation has loomed large ever since. I'm not 100% sure Boyle's sequel is based on that book (I think it is), but if so, Trainspotting 2 will revolve around our old junkie pals getting mixed up in the world of - you guessed it - pornography. I never got around to reading Welsh's sequel, but I'm told it's OK. Any of you read it? Yay or nay?
According to the teaser, Trainspotting 2 (#T2) arrives January 27th, 2017.
