Check Out The First Trailer For The Tupac Biopic, ALL EYEZ ON ME
In case you'd forgotten, there's a Tupac Shakur biopic headed our way. Titled All Eyez On Me, the film stars newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. and comes to us from music video director Benny Boom.
This morning, we got our first taste of the film via a brief teaser trailer. Let's take a look.
That looks solid, well-shot and appropriately weighty (it helps that Shipp Jr. is such a dead ringer for Tupac; I hadn't seen an image of him in the role before today, and my jaw hit the floor at that first reveal). Given 'Pac's legendary status and the success of last year's Straight Outta Compton, I'm willing to bet that audiences turn up for this one. I know I'm definitely into it.
According to Variety, All Eyez On Me "chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip-hop artist and actor, his imprisonment, and his time at Death Row Records". If you know anything about Tupac, you know that timeline promises quite a bit of drama.
All Eyez On Me doesn't have a release date, but we should know something soon. We'll keep you updated.
By the way, today's June 16th. In a better world, we'd be celebrating Tupac's 45th birthday.
