Here’s The First Trailer For Ron Howard’s THE BEATLES: EIGHT DAYS A WEEK - THE TOURING YEARS

Turns out, Ron Howard made a feature-length, fully-authorized documentary about The Beatles. No, really. It's called The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years, and it arrives later this year.

According to Deadline:

The Imagine Entertainment, White Horse Pictures and Apple Corps film begins in the days of Liverpool’s Cavern Club and goes through to The Beatles’ 1966 concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. The film looks at the band’s inner workings – how decisions were made and music created. It also delves into the Beatlemania phenomenon and the social and political context of the time, while exploring the electricity between performer and audience that turned the music into a movement. The doc features rare and exclusive footage and was produced with the full cooperation of McCartney, Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison.

All of this sounds great, but if we can I voice one minor quibble: The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years is one clunky-ass title. I mean, I suppose it's understandable given the specific period the doc's covering, but still...woof. 

No matter! The promise of rare and exclusive footage alone is enough to have my interest, and I like the rollout plan they've got in place: the film will hit theaters (where it'll be pitched to moviegoers as a special event) on September 16th, and will be available to stream via Hulu the following day. Pretty cool!
