Clint Eastwood Introduces A New Trailer For SULLY Without Saying Anything Racist

Baby steps.

In a startling development, Warner Bros. has released a brand-new IMAX trailer for Sully which includes an exclusive introduction by director Clint Eastwood, who manages to go an entire 45 seconds without saying anything outwardly racist (or calling anyone a pussy).

It is a revelation.

As you can see, Sully tells the true story of Captain ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, who famously landed US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River after the plane was damaged during takeoff. Rightfully hailed as a hero, he was later the subject of an unfortunate NTSB investigation headed up by Mike O'Malley, former host of Nickelodeon's GUTS.

All joking aside: the movie looks pretty good, Tom Hanks seems to be turning in another reliably strong performance, and Clint Eastwood actually once spent about 10 minutes speaking to an empty chair at the Republican National Convention.

Sully arrives on Sept. 9th.
