John Krasinski Joins Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit Riots Movie

This cast just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Krasinski - last seen brandishing a serious beard and a number of gigantic firearms in Michael Bay's 13 Hours - has joined the cast of Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming (and still untitled!) Detroit riots drama.

Krasinski joins John Boyega, Will Poulter, Jack Reynor, Jacob Latimore, Kaitlyn Dever, Algee Smith, Ben O’Toole, and Hannah Murray in the film, the plot details of which are still largely unknown. To hear THR tell it, the 1967 Detroit riots will serve as a backdrop to a crime thriller dealing with "characters on both sides of the racial divide and both sides of police and civilian line".

I've got very little to add here, except to say that I generally like Krasinski, I think this cast is great, and Bigelow's a goddamn rock star. Whatever Untitled Detroit Riots Drama ends up being called, I'm guessing it's gonna be something special. Stay tuned for updates as they occur.
