Margot Robbie To Executive Produce Harley Quinn Spin-Off For Warner Bros

But who will she get to play the lead role?

Warner Bros. just signed Margot Robbie to a first-look deal in which she can develop projects through a banner called LuckyChap Entertainment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the first projects she’s going with is a Harley Quinn spin-off.

The possibility of doing such a thing with the character has been rumored for a while, but now it’s official. One of the rumored story ideas for the film was a DC female superhero ensemble movie. Whether or not they’re going with that angle remains unknown. But that would certainly be cool.

This is all about as early and sketchy as it gets right now, so there’s currently no way of knowing how this will affect the DCU’s upcoming slate of films, which extends well into the 22nd century. One assumes it’ll get shoved in there somewhere rather than tacked onto the end. People definitely had their problems with Suicide Squad, but Robbie’s version of Harley Quinn appears to have escaped as a highlight. Hopefully she can get herself a better movie this time.
