Live In Austin Or Chicago? You Need To Check Out THE BEYOND: COMPOSER’S CUT - LIVE

Live music by Fabio Frizzi. It doesn't get any better.

Last year, I was lucky enough to attend Frizzi 2 Fulci concert here in Austin, TX. You can read all about that event here, but the long and short of it is: composer Fabio Frizzi knows how to put on a killer live show (I am not being sarcastic when I say that Frizzi rocked that Presbyterian church to its very core), and the music he composed for Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, Zombi 2, and City Of The Living Dead more than holds up all these years later. 

Now Frizzi's back with another live music event, a brand-new live-scoring of The Beyond, and if you're living in Chicago or Austin, I strongly advise that you make a point of checking it out. Here's how Mondo's describing the show:

For the film's 35th Anniversary, The Maestro Fabio Frizzi will be joined on stage by his 8-piece band, performing a newly realized composer’s cut of the score The Beyond: respecting his original version, but expanding the score for a live band. The Maestro and his band will be performing the live re-score while the film plays preserving all dialogue from the original uncut classic , for this special one off performance Fabio Frizzi has expanded the original music of The Beyond to include brand new cues composed in 2016 to give you a one of a kind chance to fully immerse yourself in the dreamlike atmosphere of Lucio Fulci’s classic.

Ticket price: $50 general admission / $90 VIP
VIP package is limited to 50 tickets and includes:

  • Meet and greet signing session with Fabio Frizzi
  • Early entry to view soundcheck
  • First access to seating
  • A lathe-cut square shaped clear vinyl 7" pressed exclusively for VIP ticket holders (50 only, one time pressing) featuring a track from last year's live show recorded in Austin.

And for Chicago:

The Music Box Theatre announces an extraordinary special event slated for Thursday, October 6th, 2016: a screening of the highly sought-after horror classic THE BEYOND composer’s cut and live score performed by Fabio Frizzi in person. Prior to the 8:00pm screening, a meet-and-greet with Frizzi will be held for VIP ticketholders at 6:30pm.

Tickets for this event can be purchased online or at The Music Box box office. General admission tickets are $25.00 and $20.00 for Music Box Theatre members. VIP Tickets are available for $50.00 and $45.00 for Music Box Members. For further information, please visit www.musicboxtheatre.com. 

I seriously cannot recommend a Frizzi live show enough. But if you still need convincing, check out this video from last year's Frizzi 2 Fulci MondoCon show. It doesn't totally convey the awesomeness of being there, but it comes pretty darn close.
