BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS Gets Sequel With William Shatner
The animated Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which sees Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar return to their Batman ’66 roles, isn’t even out yet. Nevertheless, it’s already getting a sequel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this new film is aiming for a 2017 release date. And just to ensure everyone gets excited for it, the film is coming with a very special guest. William Shatner himself has joined the cast to play Two-Face.
Two-Face is one of the few Batman villains who never made it to the series (though Harlan Ellison did write a script for a Two-Face episode called “The Two-Way Crimes of Two-Face”), so this should be a lot of fun without stepping on the toes of any other actor’s performance.
I can’t think of an actor more appropriate for the Batman ’66 universe than Shatner. I’m also super glad they’re making these and can’t wait to see Return of the Caped Crusaders when it hits home video November 1.
