Doug Liman Working On YouTube Red JUMPER Sequel Series

A lot of things you probably didn’t expect to read today, all in one sentence.

Doug Liman has a lot going on. He has a new Tom Cruise movie coming down the pike, as well as the behemoth that will be Justice League Dark. And yet he finds time to enjoy the little things in life.

For instance, a sequel series to his not-so-hit film Jumper for YouTube Red. According to The Wrap, Liman will direct the pilot with Lost writer Jeff Lieber on writing duties. The show will be called Impulse, based on Steven Gould’s sequel novel. The story follows the daughter of the characters played by Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson in the first movie.

Don’t expect those actors to return, by the way. And especially don’t expect any Samuel L. Jackson action. But it is nice that Liman cares enough to come back for the pilot, especially since Jumper didn’t do much at the box office. Hopefully it turns out well. I'll make sure to ask all the kids I know who subscrube to YouTube Red, if I ever meet any.
