To Tim Miller, The Only Thing Better Than Not-Directing DEADPOOL Is Working On A SONIC Movie

The hedgehog, not the restaurant.

We recently learned that Tim Miller jumped ship on Deadpool 2 over creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds. Since then, our attention has been focused squarely on who would take over for him, specifically whether or not it would be my dad.

But we were looking in the wrong place, because the real story was not with Deadpool 2 but Miller himself. According to THR, the guy will now focus his efforts on a CG live-action hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Miller won’t actually direct the film. That honor falls to his longtime collaborator Jeff Fowler. Miller will help develop, however. With any luck, he will help develop it into a movie where Sonic gets pegged.

There are bright points here. Sonic the Hedgehog is being produced by Fast and Furious’ Neal H. Moritz, for one. Plus, it’s being written by Golan the Insatiable’s Patrick Casey and Josh Miller (a really cool guy who was actually on our podcast once!). Maybe it’ll end up being a cool project after all.
