Whatever DETECTIVE PIKACHU Is, It’s Getting A Live-Action Movie

That little yellow thing that can barely speak is solving crimes now, I guess.

Someone decided to put a Sherlock Holmes cap on Pikachu. And thus an empire was born. Or added to.

I’m speaking from a place of ignorance here, so forgive me if I’m missing out on something really special. Apparently the latest leg of our shared Pokemon existence is something called Detective Pikachu. It must be a big deal because they’re putting this guy in a movie. 

Not just a movie, but a live-action one directed by Goosebumps’ Rob Letterman. And that’s not all. This is expected to be the first of a whole Detective Pikachu franchise. Who knows? Ten years from now, I may call this the greatest series ever.

Until then, I will remain puzzled about what crimes in the Pokemon universe Detective Pikachu actually needs to investigate. Or how effective he is at it when he only knows how to say one word. Or how that hat even stays on his head. I'm beginning to think I am not the target audience for this.
