Of all Doug Liman’s upcoming projects, and there are a few, I had forgotten all about The Wall, a war movie the director is made for Amazon Studios. But now it’s fresh in my mind thanks to this trailer:
This strikes me as a not great trailer for a film I would nevertheless really like to see. On the other hand, I’m not sure how much of this movie you can show in a trailer without ruining things. It’s all set up and premise. After that, all you really have to go on is a dude laying on the ground while another dude talks to a guy on the phone.
But what a plot! I love small, high concept cat and mouse movies like this and have absolute faith in Liman’s ability to pull it off (think of the sniper sequence in The Bourne Identity). Count me in.
Unfortunately, we won’t get an opportunity to see this until it comes out in March. Hopefully, it is worth the wait.
