Chris Evans Will Star In JEKYLL For Director Ruben Fleischer

Not that JEKYLL. The other, tangentially-related JEKYLL.

According to a new report over at Deadline, Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has signed on to bring an adaptation of the BBC One series Jekyll to the big screen, and he's bringing Chris Evans along for the ride.

I'm unfamiliar with Jekyll, but Deadline describes it as a pseudo-sequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, wherein a descendant of the infamous doctor - a guy named Jackman - finds himself exhibiting the same split-personality problems his ancestor experienced. As you might expect, said split-personality problems eventually create problems for Jackman and his family, and intense hijinks ensue.

As of now, there's nothing further to report on this one - Fleischer's working on the script with Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry, while the plan is to fit Jekyll into Evan's busy Marvel schedule when it's convenient to do so.

We'll keep you informed as this one makes its way through production. In the meantime, sounds like I have some catching up to do on a certain BBC One series.
