New RINGS Trailer Promises The Most Mildly Startling Horror Experience Of The Year
So, a new trailer for Rings has arrived.
Directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez and starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Johnny Galecki and Aimee Teegarden, the film finds Samara (the well-dwelling ghost-lady who terrorized Naomi Watts in the first two Ring movies) up to her old tricks again. She's such a scamp!
Let's take a look.
Well that looks mildly startling at best! Telegraphed jump-scares, a mirror gag, yet another scene where a soaking wet Samara climbs through someone's television (OH SHIT THIS TIME IT'S LAYING FACE DOWN WHAAAT), and ... I dunno, if we're being honest, I'm kinda having trouble figuring out the story here. Good thing we've got an official plot synopsis here to set us straight!
A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.
OK, sure, that's fine.
You weren't clamoring for another sequel to The Ring, but that won't stop Rings from arriving in theaters on February 3rd.
