Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Very Sad And Very Angry In The First AFTERMATH Trailer
It's no secret that Arnold Schwarzenegger's post-political movie career has had its up and downs. For every Sabotage there's been a Terminator Genisys; for every Expendables 3, an Expendables 2. You win some, you lose some, I suppose, but Schwarzenegger kinda wins even when we lose. He's a one-man institution and should be respected as such (especially lately).
And now he's got a new movie on the way. Written by Enemy's Javier Gullón (!!!) and produced by Darren Aronofsky (!!!), Aftermath looks to be a slow-burning drama-thriller with a hard emotional edge. Here's the first trailer, see what you think.
That looks alright! Nothing worth getting super excited over, perhaps, but it's always a pleasure to see Arnold swinging for the fences with such heavy dramatic material, and Scott McNairy's always a reliably shifty presence. Sure, we'll check this out. Why not?
Here's the plot synopsis, via The Playlist, just in case that trailer wasn't clear:
"Two strangers’ lives become inextricably bound together after a devastating plane crash. Inspired by actual events, Aftermath tells a story of guilt and revenge after an air traffic controller’s (Scoot McNairy) error causes the death of a construction foreman’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) wife and daughter."
Aftermath opens on April 7th. Y'all gonna check it out or what?
