Warner Bros. Is Planning To Reboot THE MATRIX

This should go over well.

Well, it appears the rumors were true: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is moving forward with a reboot of The Matrix, with a treatment currently being hammered out by Zak Penn and Michael B. Jordan eyed to star.

That's somewhat hard to believe as it is, but there's also this:

At this point, the Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed the original and its two sequels, are not involved and the nature of their potential engagement with a new version has not been determined. Certainly, Warners would want the two filmmakers to give at minimum a blessing to the nascent project. The studio had no comment.

So, the Wachowskis aren't involved but there's a "potential engagement" to be worked out and/or determined? Not sure what to make of that, but then, this entire project is hard to wrap one's head around.

What do you guys think? Would you be onboard with a new take on The Matrix? Think they oughtta leave well enough alone? Only interested if the Wachowskis (and maybe Keanu) return? Sound off in the comments below. We're curious where y'all are at on this.
