It’s Time To Get Excited About PHILIP K. DICK’S ELECTRIC DREAMS

Sometimes, a story falls through the cracks for us, and - according to a new post over at The Hollywood Reporter - that's what happened last May, when Amazon and Channel 4 announced Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams., a 10-part anthology series that will feature "stand-alone episodes each inspired by the acclaimed author's short stories."

We're not sure what we were doing on the day that announcement rolled in (it was almost certainly something very serious and important), but this show is now firmly on our radar, and we're very excited for it to arrive.

Here's the new news:

Production is now underway in London on Amazon's anthology series being executive produced by Bryan Cranston, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, with Timothy Spall having joined the first episode. 

The BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee will play the lead in The Commuter, playing an unassuming employee at a train station who is alarmed to discover that a number of daily commuters are taking the train to a town that shouldn't exist.

An anthology series based on the short stories of Philip K. Dick is such a great idea, you kind of have to wonder why this hasn't happened already (one assumes the ongoing popularity of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror helped make this a reality, which is just another point in Black Mirror's column as far as we're concerned).
