You’re Going To Be Waiting A Little While Longer For INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 4
According to a new report at Variety, Universal and Sony Pictures have opted to push the forthcoming Insidious: Chapter 4 from its October 2017 release date to January 5th, 2018. You're alright with this because you didn't even realize a fourth Insidious was opening in October.
Opening now in Insidious: Chapter 4's original slot is a horror comedy by the name of Half To Death, about "a college student reliving details from the day of her murder and she works to discover her killer’s identity."
Variety points out that Half To Death will now do box office battle against the utterly insane-sounding Geostorm and a Robert DeNiro comedy by the name of War With Grandpa. Perhaps you can use that weekend to do some hiking, or catch up on laundry, or knit an elegant sweater.
As for Insidious: Chapter 4, the plot revolves around Lin Shaye's Dr. Elise Rainier investigating the haunting of her family home. It's being directed by The Taking Of Deborah Logan's Adam Robitel and was written by Leigh Whannell, who - during a press junket for the original Insidious - told me that there were no plans to make sequels to Insidious.
Stay tuned for more on Insidious: Chapter 4 as the updates roll in.
