It’s Mandy Moore VS. Shark In The First 47 METERS DOWN Trailer

Back when Jaume Collet-Serra's The Shallows was announced, I remember the internet reacting with no small amount of eyerolling: it's Blake Lively? Versus a shark? From the director of Orphan? How good could that possibly be?

Well, actually, The Shallows ruled pretty hard, offering up precisely the sort of trashy thrills many of us want in our summer movie entertainment diet. Sure, it was mostly forgettable, and yeah, it got quite a bit of mileage out of some cheap gore gags (and a lot - and I do mean a lot - of butt shots), but still: pretty, pretty good.

All of this is a very long-winded way of saying: though I'm very tempted to do so, I won't be immediately dismissive of Johannes Roberts' 47 Meters Down.

That's an okay trailer, but the premise is admittedly great: what happens if your diving cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean while you're surrounded by sharks and running low on air? Hard decisions would have to be made in a situation like that, and I'm glad it's Mandy Moore that has to make them and not, say, me.

47 Meters Down opens on June 16th. You guys gonna show up for it or what?
