Get Your Brain Melted By The New BLADE RUNNER 2049 Trailer

Hey, look, Denis Villeneuve made another jaw-droppingly gorgeous movie.

Following this morning's Facebook livestream, Warner Bros. has released the new trailer for Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049. You should not be shocked to learn that it is jaw-droppingly beautiful and more than a little mysterious.

Let's take a look.

So, first thing's first: if nothing else, Blade Runner 2049 looks absolutely gorgeous. Given that Villeneuve's directing and everything's shot by the legendary Roger Deakins, I suppose that shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, but still. "Visually arresting" doesn't quite cover it.

Of course getting the look right is a huge step in the right direction, but I think we can all agree that any Blade Runner sequel needs more than gorgeous visuals to justify its existence. With that in mind, let's see what the official plot synopsis has to say for itself:

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who's been missing for 30 years.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: they're playing their cards very close to the vest on Blade Runner 2049, and anyone wishing to walk into Villeneuve's film blind would probably do well to avoid any and all trailers going forward. They've kept this movie's secrets thus far, but there's no telling how long that'll last (hopefully up until Blade Runner 2049's October 6th release date).

Anyway, we've gone from being very skeptical about Blade Runner 2049 to being very hyped about Blade Runner 2049. Where do you guys stand on it?
