The Rock Wants Armie Hammer To Play SHAZAM
A while back, Warner Bros. decided it was going to split its upcoming Shazam movies into two films - one focused on the titular hero, another focused on his nemesis, Black Adam. The Rock, as you know, has long been onboard the project to play the latter, but as of yet no one's been announced as Shazam.
Well, as it happens, The Rock has some ideas about who he'd like to go up against. Here he is speaking to We Got This Covered about the project (via Dark Horizons):
“I’m gonna throw one name out here and I wanna see how the fans are gonna react to this. A guy who I met, after I met him I was like, ‘Man that guy’s such a cool guy, he’s a lot bigger than I thought he would be.’
And when I walked away I remember telling our who I’ve worked with for a long time, Hiram Garcia – we both looked at each other and were like, ‘Possibly Shazam?’ I’m not even gonna tell you his name, I’m just gonna say Lone Ranger.
You could see that right? I don’t know if he’s interested, and by the way, the studio doesn’t even know that we’ve been having these conversations. I just remember meeting him and walking away going, ‘Man that guy would look great I bet as Shazam’—and by the way, he’s one of a handful (of names).”
Real talk? I may now know much about Shazam or Black Adam or, really, much of anything when ya get right down to it, but I do know that Armie Hammer crushed it in Ben Wheatley's Free Fire, so much so that my entire outlook on Armie Hammer has changed. God help me, I've even been thinking about renting The Man From U.N.C.L.E..
What do you guys think, though? Into this casting idea? Not so much? Sound off in the comments below.
