The New MUMMY Trailer Goes Full Tom Cruise

Here, at last (?), is the third trailer for Universal's The Mummy, starring Sofia Boutella and an exceptionally confused-looking Tom Cruise. If the previous trailers did not sell you on Alex Kurtzman's film, be aware that this one features far more Tom Cruise action than the others.

It's almost enough to get us onboard. Almost.

Real talk: we've been giving the side-eye to Universal's "Uni Monsters Shared Universe" project (which, by the way, I've heard will be branded under the name Dark Universe, but don't hold me to that) ever since it was announced, for any number of reasons. You know this.

But given the inclusion of Cruise (we're big fans!) and our love for the Universal Monsters (it is known!), I really wish the narrative here were, "Hey, we were wrong to be skeptical, this looks pretty badass", but - try as we might - it's just not happening.

Maybe the film itself will bring us around on this concept! Maybe not! All we can do is wait and see. The Mummy arrives on June 9th, so we won't be waiting much longer.
