Jordan Peele’s GET OUT Follow-Up Gets A Release Date

Mark March 15th, 2019 on your calendars.

We don’t know what it will be about, who will be in it, or even what it’s called, but today we have learned that Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out will hit theaters on March 15, 2019.

It’s a testament to the quality of Get Out that that’s enough to get us excited.

According to THR, the upcoming social thriller will have a budget of about $25 million – roughly five times the size of Get Out’s. (Get Out has made over $230 million so far.) Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions will produce the film at Universal (though they will continue to develop smaller-budgeted projects at Blumhouse).

Literally all other details about the project are under wraps at the moment, but as Peele has hinted in past interviews that he had several other “social thrillers” in mind, it’s safe to speculate that this one has been carefully incubating in much the same way Get Out was.

I gushed about it yesterday in the Mondo poster post, but it bears repeating: Get Out is a game-changer, a legitimate moment in genre history, maybe even cinema history, and as excited as I am to revisit the film when my Blu-ray shows up, I’m even more excited to see what comes from its success.
