New Trailer For Kathryn Bigelow’s DETROIT Is Extremely Intense

Also, maybe don't watch it all the way to the end.

A new trailer for Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit has arrived, and it's possibly even more intense than the first one. It also includes a tag at the very end that feels a bit too spoilery for its own good, so if you're not already familiar with the true story that inspired the film, you may want to consider hitting pause at the 2:55 mark.

Check it out:

This movie looks like a powerhouse on every conceivable front, and if the intensity contained in these trailers is any indication, we're in for one helluva ride when Detroit opens on August 4th. I'm not convinced it's going to be an entirely pleasant ride (how could it be, given the subject matter?), but that's almost certainly part of the point. I cannot wait to see this thing in full. Think it's too early to start talking Oscar predictions?

Here's an official plot synopsis, which plays things far more close to the vest than the trailer above:

"From the Academy Award-winning director of THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY, DETROIT tells the gripping story of one of the most terrifying moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of ’67."

Detroit, starring John Boyega, Will Poulter, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski, Anthony Mackie and a slew of other performers, arrives on August 4th. Are you folks as hyped for this one as we are? Sound off in the comments below.
