Martin Scorsese May Be Filming KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON Next Year
At the tender old age of 74, Martin Scorsese - one of our greatest living directors - is plugging right along like a man half his age...and thank god, because as long as we've always got new Scorsese to look forward to, things ain't all bad.
Anyway, we bring all this up because (as you know) Scorsese's currently gearing up to film his long-gestating mob movie, The Irishman, for Netflix. That film - which will, as we recently learned, involve de-aging Robert DeNiro via the use of CGI - sounds like it's going to be quite the project...and yet, it sounds like Scorsese's already got one eye on the next one, Killers Of The Flower Moon.
Says The Playlist:
"Scorsese’s longtime production designer Dante Ferretti says the director will shoot the recently announced Killers Of The Flower Moon next spring, and that location scouting is already underway."
The current plan calls for Killers Of The Flower Moon to star Leonardo DiCaprio (obvs) and Robert De Niro (also obvs). Based on a novel of the same name by David Grann, Killers Of The Flower Moon tells the story of the FBI's first major case: a series of racially-charged murders tied to the discovery of oil on land owned by the Osage Indian nation. DiCaprio and De Niro are not yet confirmed for the roles, but come on: you know they're gonna be in it.
Nothing further to report on this one at the moment, but we'll be keeping our ears to the ground for further updates. Stay tuned.
