The First A WRINKLE IN TIME Trailer Is Here To Drop Your Jaw
Having never read the book on which Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time is based, I had very little idea what to expect in terms of what the movie version might look like. Was it a period piece? It's a fantasy thing, right? So there's probably a bunch of forests and whatnont in it, maybe some magic? A few stills arrived earlier in the week and piqued my interest, but still: wasn't really sure what to expect.
Now we have a trailer. Let's take a look.
Whoa. Okay. So that's...pretty cool looking, right? Again, no idea if the imagery here lines up with Madeleine L'Engle's novel, but I don't really care. I'm impressed, and now very much looking forward to seeing whatever the hell this movie is.
Speaking of which, here's a plot synopsis:
"Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace, have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry, for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Joined by Meg's classmate Calvin O'Keefe and guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe."
This one doesn't arrive until next year, so we've got quite a ways to and much more to see. You folks feeling this trailer as much as we are (and, yes, the "Sweet Dreams" cover is most unfortunate)? Sound off in the comments below.
Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time lands in theaters on March 9th.
