KUNG FU PANDA’s John Powell Will Score The HAN SOLO Movie
Well, it's official: the as-yet-untitled Young Han Solo movie has a composer - John Powell, whose work you might recall from such films as Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, and 2010's How To Train Your Dragon (which, it's worth noting, Powell received an Oscar nomination for).
LucasFilm itself announced the news in a video you can watch below:
As pointed out by the Hollywood Reporter, this makes Powell only the third composer to score a Star Wars movie, after John Williams and Rogue One's Michael Giacchino. That's a pretty big honor, one we suspect is not bringing any amount of pressure whatsoever down on Powell's shoulders.
Nothing further to report on Young Han Solo at this time, but things seem to be clipping right along ever since Ron Howard stepped in for Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were infamously let go from the production just last month. Stay tuned for more as it comes along!
