Jaume Collet-Serra Dodges SUICIDE SQUAD 2 To Instead Take JUNGLE CRUISE

Close call, guy.

Word hit earlier this month that frequent Liam Neeson director Jaume Collet-Serra was high on Warner Bros’ list to direct the highly anticipated (by someone, I’m sure) Suicide Squad 2. I considered this good news for Suicide Squad, but bad news for Collet Serra, who should probably have better things to do with his time.

It looks like he agrees. According to Deadline, Collet-Serra has just signed on to direct Jungle Cruise, one of 50 upcoming Dwayne Johnson films. I don’t even need to know what Jungle Cruise is about. This is a wise choice.

So now Warners is back to the drawing board. Who will they find to helm their insanely dark and twizted PG-13 super villain movie? Not a lot of good names come to mind. On the flip side, this also makes one wonder what kind of movie Jungle Cruise is going to be. Collet-Serra has yet to show the humor and brightness you might expect from a movie based on a Disney ride (yeah, yeah, Pirates isn’t exactly bright, but you know what I mean).
