Seth Meyers Is Producing A MUNSTERS Reboot For NBC

According to Deadline, NBC is taking another crack at resurrecting The Munsters, the kooky, monster-themed sitcom that ran for two seasons back in the mid-'60s. This will be the network's second attempt to get a Munsters remake off the ground, following Bryan Fuller's Mockingbird Lane (only a pilot was produced, and was later aired as a Halloween special). 

Here's how Deadline's describing the reboot:

"Inspired by the original series, the half-hour single-camera The Munsters, now in development, follows members of an offbeat family who are determined to stay true to themselves but struggle to fit in in hipster Brooklyn. (In the original, the Munsters resided at the famous 1313 Mockingbird Lane address in the city of Mockingbird Heights, a fictional suburb in California.)"

If you're thinking, "It's a Munsters reboot set in Brooklyn's hipster community? Good god, no!", be aware that there may be a saving grace here: this version of The Munsters is headed our way via Seth Meyers' production company, Sethmaker Shoemeyer, and will be written by Odd Mom Out's Jill Kargman. We're still not convinced this is a great idea, but the creative team behind the show is just strong enough for us to remain...well, we'll go so far as "mildly intrigued" on this one. No further.
