Mike Dougherty Tweets A Familiar Image From GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS

This should make fans happy/nervous.

With so much attention paid lately on Godzilla vs. Kong, it’s easy to forget that they’re actually making a different sequel to Godzilla right now. In fact, Mike Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of Monsters is already more than a month into shooting.

And to celebrate the forty-first day of production, Dougherty tweeted the following picture:

That is the Oxygen Destroyer, the weapon used to kill Godzilla in the 1956 original. I find its inclusion curious as new Godzilla is generally seen by the public as a good guy, so I wouldn't expect scientists to want to kill him. Unless that changes (and I really hope it doesn’t) my main thinking is this device will be used to take out his enemies, hopefully that fucking twerp Rodan.

It’s going to be super exciting once we start seeing bits and pieces of this movie, which won’t come out until March 2019. I can barely handle waiting to see what the new Ghidorah is going to look like.
