STRANGER THINGS Will Probably End After Four Seasons

Three more and then they're out. Probably.

In a new interview with Vulture, Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer suggests that the wildly popular Netflix series will be brought in for a landing after four seasons. Here's exactly what he said (as quoted by The Playlist):

“We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out. I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

In another recent interview, The Playlist has the other Duffer, Matt, suggesting that these future seasons will also be shorter than season two, which will run a full nine episodes when it debuts on Netflix in October:

"I think we’re going to try to go back to eight (episodes). Because I just remember even when we were writing (season two), and we’re like, ‘Oh, we have one more script.’ We were all like about to pass out. Like somehow, that extra script just made everyone’s lives very difficult. I think people want us to keep doing more, but you know for us, it’s all about quality control.”

What a refreshing thing to hear! These guys have an end point in mind, understand that "more" does not always equate to "better", and aren't afraid to express these opinions out loud. More of this kind of thing, please, Hollywood.

Stranger Things season two arrives on Netflix on October 27th. Better start getting your season one rewatches in now, folks.
