Hurricane Harvey has left Texas, but its aftermath will continue to be felt for a very long time to come. Now that the sun is out and much of the water has receded here in Houston, we're just starting to get an idea of how much this storm has devastated our city, and we know our friends in Corpus Christi feel the same way.

The Gulf Coast needs assistance, and BMD's Austin-based parent company, Alamo Drafthouse, is doing their part to support their family to the south and east.

Hurricane Harvey has resulted in devastating flooding along the Texas coast, and over the last week our primary focus has been to ensure that Alamo Drafthouse team members were safe in the storm. Our Mason Park location in Houston has reopened as of today, and our location in Corpus Christi plans to reopen this Friday. 

Now we're turning our focus to doing our part to help our neighbors rebuild. There's a variety of fundraising events underway across the country (with more to come), but we want to tell you that we've launched a donation option nationwide through our online ticketing system. Beginning now and running until late September, guests can easily add a donation to their ticket purchase and Alamo Drafthouse will match every dollar donated.

This donation option should be active now or quite soon in all locations -- it'll show up as a Merchandise item in the Checkout process, similar to where you've seen Mondo glasses and pin add-ons sold.

Free Admission for Hurricane Evacuees in Austin, Laredo, New Braunfels and San Antonio
From now through 9/7, admission is free for evacuees from affected areas at all San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, and New Braunfels locations.

Restrictions: Tickets available at Alamo Drafthouse box office only with valid ID from affected areas. Admissions are for first run films ONLY and do not apply to special engagements or private events. All latecomer, talking/texting and age policies apply.

September 3rd | All locations in Austin will donate $1 from every ticket purchased.
September 14th | Donating all ticket proceeds from HONKY TONK HEAVEN.

BROOKLYN
September 3rd | Our Brooklyn location will donate an additional $1 from every ticket purchased.

CORPUS CHRISTI
September 1-4 | Special screenings of JAWS with 100% of ticket sales donated.

DALLAS
September 6th | Joining up with #DTX4HTX, a citywide campaign where participating businesses donate 20 percent of their gross sales on Wednesday, September 6, to Trusted World, a Dallas-based charitable organization that works alongside other organizations and shelters to help coordinate donation distributions and relief efforts during disasters.​

DENVER
September 3rd | Our Denver locations will donate an additional $1 from every ticket purchased.

EL PASO
September 3rd | Our Monticello location will donate an additional $1 from every ticket purchased.

On a personal note, those of us still dealing with the effects of Hurricane Harvey are stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted and heartbroken. Gestures like this make a world of difference.
